In this documentary, filmed at pantomimes throughout the country, you can see Terry Scott and John Inman stripped down to their bloomers; Windsor Davies remove his moustache; Melvyn Hayes and George Lacy (one of the oldest dames in the business) pad their overblown bosoms ; Ugly Sisters Simon Barry and Alan Vicars apply balloons for bottoms; Nat Jackley show his frilly knickers and The Rev Reg Ames from Pinner proving skirts are fun. Known only by the sign of the Black Fingernail, the pair effect a number of spectacular rescues- but the malevolent Citizen Camembert, head of the secret police, and his assistant Bidet, are soon on their trail. Wallace not only discovered new creatures but also new ideas about the origin of the species he encountered - the answer to 'the greatest mystery' that still preoccupied Charles Darwin and the other men of science back home in England. Darwin died in 1882. In her bomb room lay 5 tons of Russian gold, apparently out of any diver's reach, and today worth around £45 million. Last year, however, in one of the most ambitious and hazardous salvage operations ever undertaken, Yorkshireman Keith Jessop fulfilled a dream. He led an all-or-nothing multi-million pound venture to wrest Edinburgh's gold from its deadly hiding place.
